The Dallas Logistics Hub, a logistics park in South Dallas County developed by The Allen Group, announced this week that Bridge Terminal Transport has signed a lease and will be moving its container yard operations into a new facility in the park ... The project will add 15 full-time jobs.

With the final details now ironed out, the Allen Group Tuesday will break ground on its first build-to-suit in the 6,000-acre Dallas Logistics Hub in the southern sector. The milestone deal with Adesa Inc. for a 200,000-sf auto auction complex is opening doors for additional commercial space to support the multi-modal industrial hub.

After watching Dallas County's southern sector for a long time, Atlanta-based IDI has zeroed in on a 35-acre site in a corridor that's on the radar screens of developers and land speculators near and far. The just-bought land has frontage on interstates 20 and 35, where IDI will plant a 617,760-sf speculative distribution center.

With nary a hitch, Dallas City Council has signed off on an abatement package for Chicago-based Ridge Property Trust to develop up to 328 acres in the southern sector. The REIT is expected to build 2.2-million sf of industrial space by June 30, 2013, holding it up as a plan to add 2,000 jobs to the region at the 4.3-million-sf build-out.

Dallas County's giant inland port has landed its first major tenant: an Adesa auto auction on 175 acres in Hutchins. Indiana-based Adesa Inc., one of the nation's largest auto auction companies, said the project is valued at more than $40 million and will employ about 350 people.

Trammell Crow adding on after big Home Depot deal

Developer Trammell Crow Co. is launching a second speculative construction wave at its I-20 Distribution Center in Dallas, after a large lease by Home Depot filled up the first building. The second phase will be 890,000 square feet of bulk distribution space, bringing the total to slightly more than 1.4 million square feet in two large warehouses southwest of Interstate 20 and Interstate 35 in southern Dallas.
